AMSOIL SEVERE GEAR® Synthetic Extreme Pressure (EP) is a premium quality gear oil designed specifically for maximum performance in harsh conditions.
Contains a unique blend of high-viscosity, shear-resistant synthetic base oils and high-performance additives.
SEVERE GEAR Synthetic EP Gear Lube maintains its viscosity for long-term protection against metal-to-metal contact.
Patented AMSOIL additives create a protective iron sulfide coating on gear surfaces, providing the best protection against wear, pitting and pinching.
AMSOIL SEVERE GEAR helps prevent "heat leakage" - a phenomenon caused by the lubricant's inability to control friction and increased heat under high stress conditions.
By controlling the uncontrolled rise in temperature, AMSOIL SEVERE GEAR Synthetic EP Gear Lube inhibits the rapid degradation of the lubricant and damage to the gear components, and the equipment therefore works better and longer.
Recommended for use in differentials, manual transmissions and other transmissions requiring any of the following specifications:
API GL-5, MT-1, MIL-PRF-2105E, Dana SHAES 234 (formerly Eaton PS-037), Mack GO-J, or other GL-5 based specifications from vehicle manufacturers including Ford *, GM * and Chrysler *.
It can also be used on axles where API GL-4 lubricant is recommended.
